Billing, Upgrades, and the Stripe Portal

All billing in Baulit is handled through Stripe. This guide covers how to view your plan, upgrade, add seats, manage payment methods, and downgrade.

Viewing Your Current Plan

Go to Settings → Billing to see your subscription status. The Billing tab displays:

Each usage meter shows a visual bar so you can see at a glance how close you are to your plan limits.

Upgrading Your Plan

1
Go to Settings → Billing.
2
Find the plan you want and click the Upgrade button.
3
You will be redirected to Stripe Checkout. Select monthly or annual billing, enter your payment details, and confirm.
4
After payment, you are redirected back to Baulit. Your new tier is active immediately.

All new features and increased limits take effect the moment your payment is confirmed. There is no waiting period.

Monthly vs Annual Billing

During checkout, you can toggle between monthly and annual billing. Annual billing saves approximately 20%:

You can switch between monthly and annual at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal.

Adding Manager Seats

Each tier includes a default number of manager seats (Free: 1, Pro: 3, Enterprise: 10). If you need more, you can add extra manager seats for $19 per month each.

Additional seats are added through the Stripe Customer Portal or by contacting support. The cost is prorated for your current billing period.

Remember: Contractor and stakeholder seats are always free and unlimited. Only admin and manager roles count against your seat limit.

Managing Billing Through Stripe

Click the Manage Billing button on the Billing tab to open the Stripe Customer Portal. From there you can:

The Stripe portal is a secure, Stripe-hosted page. Baulit never sees or stores your credit card number.

Downgrading Your Plan

Downgrade Tier More projects than new limit? Yes Excess projects become read-only No More seats than new limit? Yes Remove extra seats first No Using AI features? Yes AI locked until upgrade No Downgrade Complete

Downgrading is done through the Stripe Customer Portal. Click Manage Billing in Settings, then choose a lower plan.

Important: Downgrading does not delete any data. It locks features that are above your new tier. Your projects, tasks, budgets, daily logs, and files all remain intact. If you upgrade again later, everything reappears exactly as you left it.

If you are over the limits of your new tier (for example, you have 10 projects but downgrade to Free which allows 2), your existing projects remain accessible in read-only mode. You will not be able to create new projects until you are within the tier limits.

Cancellation

To cancel your subscription, open the Stripe Customer Portal and select Cancel. Your plan remains active until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the Free tier.

You can resubscribe at any time. Your data is preserved throughout the process.
