Troubleshooting
This page covers the most common issues you might encounter in Baulit and how to resolve them. If your problem is not listed here, check the FAQ or contact support through the in-app help button.
App Is Stuck on the Loading Screen
Symptom: Baulit shows a loading spinner that never resolves, or the screen stays blank after login.
Cause: This is usually caused by stale session data stored in your browser.
Fix:
File Upload Fails
Symptom: You try to upload a file and get an error message, or the upload stalls and never completes.
Possible causes and fixes:
- File too large. The maximum file size is 25 MB. Compress the file or split it into smaller parts. For images, Baulit compresses automatically, but the original file must still be under 25 MB when you select it.
- Unsupported format. Baulit accepts JPG, PNG, HEIC, PDF, Word (.doc/.docx), and Excel (.xls/.xlsx). Other formats like ZIP, DWG, or MP4 are not supported.
- Storage limit reached. Check your usage in Settings under the Billing tab. Free accounts have 500 MB, Pro has 10 GB, and Enterprise has 100 GB. Delete unneeded files or upgrade your plan.
- Network timeout. On slow or unstable connections, large uploads can time out. Try again on a stronger connection, or use a smaller file.
Weather Data Not Showing
Symptom: The calendar, daily logs, or project overview do not display weather information.
Cause: Weather data requires a geocodable project address. Without an address, Baulit cannot determine the location to fetch weather for.
Fix: Open your project details and enter a complete street address including city, state, and ZIP code. Weather data should appear within a few seconds of saving the address.
Gantt Chart Shows No Dates
Symptom: The Gantt chart displays tasks but they have no date positioning — everything is stacked at the left edge or shows no bars.
Cause: The CPM engine needs a project start date and task durations to calculate dates. Without these inputs, there is nothing to schedule.
Fix:
Once start date and durations are in place, the Gantt chart calculates and displays dates automatically. See Gantt Chart & CPM for a full walkthrough.
AI Features Not Working
Symptom: AI buttons are grayed out, or clicking them returns an error.
Possible causes and fixes:
- No API key configured. AI features require your own Anthropic API key. Go to Settings > Account tab and paste your key. See BYOK Setup for step-by-step instructions.
- Free tier. AI features are not available on the Free plan. Upgrade to Pro or Enterprise to enable them. See Subscription Tiers.
- Rate limit reached. Pro accounts are limited to 200 AI calls per month, Enterprise to 1,000. If you have hit your limit, you need to wait until the next billing cycle or upgrade. See Usage Limits.
- Invalid API key. If your key has been revoked or is incorrectly entered, the connection test in Settings will fail. Verify your key on the Anthropic dashboard and re-enter it.
- AI globally disabled. In rare cases, Baulit's global AI kill switch may be activated for maintenance. If your key is valid and you are on a paid plan, try again in a few minutes.
Page Looks Stale After an Update
Symptom: After Baulit deploys an update, the app looks or behaves differently than expected, or you see visual glitches.
Fix: Perform a hard refresh to clear your browser's cached assets:
- Mac: Cmd+Shift+R
- Windows / Linux: Ctrl+Shift+R
This forces your browser to re-download all CSS, JavaScript, and image files. The hard refresh resolves most post-deploy display issues.
Email Notifications Not Arriving
Symptom: You are not receiving email notifications for team invitations, email change confirmations, or password resets.
Possible causes and fixes:
- Check your spam folder. Email providers sometimes route automated messages to spam or junk. Mark emails from Baulit as "Not Spam" to improve future delivery.
- Verify your email address. Make sure the email in your account settings is correct and does not contain typos.
- Domain filtering. Some corporate email systems block messages from unfamiliar domains. Ask your IT team to allowlist the Baulit sending domain.
- Wait a few minutes. Email delivery can take up to 5 minutes depending on provider load. If the message has not arrived after 10 minutes, try the action again.
